Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi
Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi opened on 1 July 2019 and is reached from Malé aboard the resort's own luxury yachts. Its villas sit in three settings, on the beach, on the reef where garden meets lagoon, and over the water, and the resort states that every villa has its own private pool.
Dining is a headline strength, with around ten venues including Terra's treetop bamboo pods, Zuma Maldives, Li Long, The Ledge by Dave Pynt and the Peacock Alley lounge. Nearby, Ithaafushi Private Island is a separate 32,000 sqm island with three residences, its own pools and a dedicated team.
Guests are collected in Malé by the resort's luxury yachts. Hilton describes the ride to the private island as about 40 minutes on one of six Ithaafushi Princess yachts, with a 15 minute seaplane flight as an alternative.
